Idle Hands (1999)

Horror meets comedy
1 April 2020
This film combines one of the most controversially liked movie genres, horror and comedy which are both subjective. Read on to find out if they made it work.

Acting/characters: For the genre the acting was great. Very funny goofy and dorky are the best adjectives for the characters. Everyone played likeable, funny and dark characters that tied together nicely.

Cinematography/special affects: This isnt a r18 slasher flick and isnt a r18 comedy either. It's somewhat in the middle with gore scenes that are more comedic and jokes that even pre teens can laugh at. The affects are of the time if not made to be more slap stick. The camera shots and quality of film are also of the time but good.

Story: Very weird dorky and a hinge of darkness added to this plot about a bunch of friends stopping evil to save the protagonists dream girl. Yeah it's very cliche and typical with no surprises really. But it is a fun ride that is a great laugh, watch and among the dorky stoner movies. Its like "planes trains and automobiles" with the what unbelievable thing will happen next vibe.

Summary: Please dont watch this is your one of those people who dont like goofy, comedic, or stoner movies, they're not made for you. However if you do.. then you'll love this one. It ties horror and comedy nicely, seth green will haunt you if you dont watch it :).
