You would be hard pressed to find an action movie as unintentionally hilarious and cheesy as Stone Cold. But, I digress Stone Cold is still a good 80's styled action movie. Brian Bozworth (former NFL player) has the right physicality and toughness to play an action hero, but has nothing in the way of acting ability and even less for charisma. Adding to his film inexperience he is a cop who is to go undercover and infiltrate a outlaw biker gang that would stick out like a sore thumb as The Boz on this movie is the most ridiculous looking guy on Planet Earth with a bleached blonde hair helmet, he looks like a reject surfer who was a bouncer at a Glam Metal club. However awkward, goofy and clumsy the lead is for the film, casting great villains here turned out to be the film's saving grace. To lead The Brotherhood is Lance Hendrikson who is very convincing and psychotic. He also has the best dialogue in the movie and that Lance Hendriksen came up with that on his own. Also, William Forsythe appears as his right hand man and heavy Ice. Together with this awesome team of super baddies the movie is much better and gives it a lot of credibility. There is a lot of good action here, but a lot of what was meant to be seen was trimmed down to achieve an R rating by the MPAA. Even with the cuts in place, the action looks great and leads to a ridiculously over the top climax . Craig R Baxley directed this and is best known as a stunt coordinator on some of the biggest Hollywood action movies. He also directed Action Jackson and while I didn't like this as much as that, Stone Cold still delivers the goods too despite it's flaws and it's lunkheaded lead.
