We get tension between the brothers, good and evil and a very well done antagonist that is going to pop up again.
Vampire tropes done right.
This show has always taken a grey sympathetic view at the monsters, even the worst ones are victims or tragic or just doing something they need to.
Also great episode for the characters because at this point there is no need for further characterization through backstory or emphasis, we understand how they are and what they are.
