In "Quiet Please" (from 1945) the brutal, on-going war between Tom (the cat) and Jerry (the mouse) continues at full-force where (as expected) it's Tom who's the one that gets the worst of it in the long run. And, yes, with that in mind - You can be sure that the violence is always gonna be right over-the-top.
Anyway - As an adult viewer, watching this vintage "Tom & Jerry" cartoon, I not only found that its story seemed to contain too much mean-mindedness for my liking. But, on top of that - I also realized that I just couldn't warm-up to neither Tom nor Jerry enough in order to enjoy watching this animated short as it was initially intended to be (as a form of light-weight entertainment).
