Review of Zephyr Springs

Actually Called 'Deadly Spa'
30 June 2020
I found this movie suspenseful and enjoyed the plot and the theme, which is a character named Dawn (played excellently by 'Caroline In The City's Amy Pietz) and how she tries to get herself and her daughter Kayla (Tracey Fairaway) to reunite for a weekend getaway at a popular spa resort owned by guru David James (CSI: Miami's Johnny Whitworth) and they have to fight for their lives. It's a run of the mill type movie, but Johnny's character is fantastic. I didn't know he was so versatile that he can play a detective on TV and a mastermind criminal here. Very good! The rest of the movie can be slow, though. It does have a 'David Koresh' feel for it and Whitworth certainly could play him in a movie. It's fun to watch, but in the end, the director yells cut and the actors go back to their real lives which is acting. Sadly, I feel that actress Fairaway should take another line of work. Acting is not her style. Amy, however, this is the only other time I've seen her in a movie, so where has she been all this time?
