Why is Charles Kissinger allowing a bat to hang on the bottom of his face?

Warning: Spoilers
I know it's supposed to be a beard, but it's the oddest one that I've seen outside of Bela Lugosi's in "White Zombie'. Future soap diva Carla Borelli ("Another World"/"Texas") is a beautiful musician who is suddenly put into a mental institution, and it's one where the patients usually don't get out of. She tries to attract attention of patients sitting in wheelchairs in white robes, but to no avail. She gets no help from Kissinger's very stern looking head nurse, a combination of Mrs. Danvers, Nurses Ratched (and Diesel) and pretty much every Disney villainess. Not to mention Mother Marcus from "The Carol Burnett Show". Borelli's boyfriend, Nick Jolley (a real meathead) find her there, but can't even get to see her. He tries to take legal action, and is met with very little to no help.

Just what is going on there? If you look at the title, you already know, and it just becomes a laugh fest of bad dialog, ridiculous cartoonist characters and performances outside of Borelli's that are simply just unbelievably insipid. The budget seems to be $1.98 (like dozens of other hurried out 70's horror films), featuring tinny sound and blurry photography.

Outside of a few unintentional laughs, a few minor shocks and a bit of tension, this is completely unforgettable, slow-moving and tedious. Kissinger isn't even bad enough to be laughable, although his second character certainly is Unforgettable. It takes forever for any of the Satanistic stuff to begin, showing flashbacks of Borelli with Jolley that just slows the film down to a dead end. Then there's the Romantic bits that are just ridiculous. After this, my thumb was sore from hitting the fast forward button too much.
