Low budget indy anthology based on the short stories of novelist/screenwriter George Pelecanos (The Wire, The Deuce) delivers on many levels with four short films featuring exemplary acting from known and up and coming character actors. This is noir, so many of the stories deal with fate and end in tragedy, all of it earned. An interesting example of what filmmakers who lack tremendous funds can do with good writing and direction.
