An arrogant and unscrupulous businessman Patrick Hutton died in a top London hotel, after the night spent with top drawer prostitute Annie Lewis.

She is accused of Hutton's murder, and Kavanagh QC gets the job as her defending barrister.

With Jeremy Aldermarten QC as his junior counsel, and the Head of Chambers Peter Foxcott QC is prosecuting Counsel.

Kavanagh's wife Lizzie has the opportunity of a lifetime in her business life for promotion, which would mean her relocation out of the country.

When Kavanagh talked to his spouse about her job prospects, who is he really concerned about her or him?

An inter Chambers cricket match is in the offing and coming, from their social background this is a big deal for the male members.

Cricket is a traditional part of the ethos and life, for many people within the British middle and upper classes.

In this society men play cricket while the wives and girlfriends are there, solely to make the tea and scones and do the washing up.

The cricket club is yet another one within this classes society, which is run by and for men.

Which is why I simply cannot understand how Chambers junior Julia Piper, ever got a look in to exchange a kitchen kettle for a cricket ball.
