Review of Spiral

Spiral (I) (2019)
3/10
Spiral out of control and into mediocrity
1 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This film tries its best to be thrilling with a storyline about a same sex couple with a teenage daughter moving into a new neighborhood. One of the leads had had a traumatic incident from his past & the movie plays on whether or not this paranoia is clouding his judgements on the residents there. It interjects some social commenting about issues a gay couple may face moving to a new town juxtaposed against his fears that the residents are not what they first appear... His partner is sceptical about his feelings/paranoia and instead dismisses it in spite of his insistent.

It is almost like an arty film that is made to appease the critics and one cannot help but notice the pretentiousness of it. If this sounds like something you may be interested in watching then go for it but for the rest of us I would stay well clear of this film.
