Great Pretender is a new anime that came from WIT Studio, a Studio that has produced some of my favorite anime. I had high expectations for this show and wasn't let down. The vibrance of this show is fantastic. The second and third arcs, although not as great as the first, still do all the great things that the first arc did, with the exception of trying to trick the audience. The characters are all very compelling and interesting. Of the main 4, I'd say that the main protagonist is the weakest character, despite the fact that he too, is great. The music feels like something out of Cowboy Bebop and the OP is fantastic, with an even better ED. Great Pretender's ability to deceive the audience at first is its best aspect however, and although they can't repeat what they did, I feel like the show still could surpass that first arc. Great Pretender is a must watch this year.
