Uneven and not grounded in reality
27 October 2020
I keep reading how "painfully real" this show is. It is painful, yes. There is little character development and the relationships (between mother and son and friends) are just weird and not based in reality. The entire character of Fraser is the worst. He comes off as flippant and annoying and it's a horribly acted character. I am not in the military, but it doesn't seem realistic to me. The dialogue, the characters and their interactions with each other just don't work and it comes off very uneven and hard to watch. It's disappointing because I think there is some real talent that is wasted.
