A Sublime Masterpiece
7 December 2020
James Longley is a master filmmaker. Amid the bustle of life in Kabul, Longley gives you an intimate tour of the consciousness of its various protagonists, mainly school children. Imagine the aesthetic and method of Terrence Mallick with the polyphony and humanity of Svetlana Alexievich. This is the kind of film that brings you closer to the core of humanity, the familiar longings and fears that remain common regardless of the outer experiences and manifestations. This film is a masterpiece.
