Warning: Spoilers
A low budget gangster story from Taiwan, but one which delivers the goods and tells an interesting, character-focused small scale story. The excellent Alex Man is perfectly chosen to play the protagonist, fresh out of jail and working at a dead-end factory job; he previously killed a love rival but now just wants a normal life. The early slow pacing shows him building relationships with colleagues and a possible love interest, but criminal elements begin to take over, leading to a violent confrontation at the climax. The quality of the acting by Man in particular and others like Tien Niu really lifts this above its genre and makes it a worthwhile watch.
