Watchable enough
7 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
One of two big-name features dealing with German airships; the other is the better-known HINDENBURG with George C. Scott. This one's a WW1-era spy thriller in which German-born Michael York is tasked with going to Germany for an undercover operation to find out their plans. The usual strong production values and ensemble cast make this all very watchable, and it gets really interesting in the second half, which is essentially one huge set-piece on board the titular vessel, building to an expectedly fiery climax. Not, perhaps, the most exciting film out there, but it's watchable enough.
