John Adams: Reunion (2008)
Season 1, Episode 4

My favorite of the series

The relationship and intimacy between John and Abigail is the strongest emotional cord throughout the series. Other aspects of the story is well done but this great American love story was brought to life perfectly. Giamatti and Linney are exceptional tailored for each other as these characters; the few times the series stumbles it never involved the marriage. As such this episode is deeply engrossed with that aspect and the literally reunion scene is the most touching of the series.

Apart from that the episodes dramatizes successfully one of the surreal episodes in history that is both really funny and really emotionally painful. The scene in which John Adams is introduced to King George III *as America's ambassador* is best scene of the series. It fully captures just how bizarre, awkward and well in a way funny that event must have actually been.
