Review of Yatchan

Yatchan (2015)
3/10
A very good story which is let down by poor screenplay

Warning: Spoilers
The story focuses on two people: a Hooligan in Thoothukudi who goes to Chennai after accidentally killing his friend, and is given a task to kill a girl with superpowers, and an aspiring actor in Palani who goes to Chennai to join the film industry as an actor. However, they unknowingly swap places, where the Hooligan becomes an actor and is given a chance to act with actor Ajith Kumar, while the aspiring actor is given the task to kill the girl.

Positives - Story, Yuvan Shankar Raja songs and bgm, Krishna's acting, Fight sequences were great

Negatives - Screenplay and direction were horrible. Comedy was worst, especially RJ Balaji was annoying to the core. There were many illogical and stupid scenes such as the heroine(Deepa Sannidhi) having a super power as a result of getting electrocuted by a lightning, where she could read people's minds.

Another stupid scene is the reason why Arya accidentally kills his friend before going to Chennai. Arya has portrayed as an ardent fan of actor Ajith Kumar, and he has bought first day first show tickets for the movie Veeram (2014). When his friend snatches the tickets from him and tears them apart, Arya kills him.

Overall, the movie could've been better if it had a better director than Vishnuvardhan.
