Warning: Spoilers
One of the better recent episodes. Joe throws a party, on a week night considering everyone is at work the next day, and one of the guests is mugged after a rendezvous with her father in a park. This leads to an old case involving stolen jewels. We learn Joe has failed in a second case when he didn't find these jewels. A few episodes back in Little Girl Lost, we learned Joe failed to find Julie Adams. Two strikes on Joe!

Anyway, Art Malcolm is involved due to the mugging and the case is reopened. Joe gets to visit Jonah the fence (Charles Tyner) and then Hamilton Starr (Victor Buono) and his lackey Orville (Eddie Ryder). Is there a creepier actor than Charles Tyner? Is there a better scenery chewer than Victor Buono? They both play good characters here and the henchman Orville does dress bad. Tyner gets the end he usually gets in all his tv appearances and there is a nice twist as to who the bad guys are. How Joe gets to the final answer is another one of his classic gut hunches. He and Art catch Victor just as he is killing his henchman and they get to arrest him for it. The jewels are found and the case is closed. At least the police show up in time to actually be of some use to Joe. Why wasn't Art Malcolm invited to Joe's party?

Joe doesn't have a client so no pay once again. Maybe a finder's fee for the jewels. I wonder what happened to the myna bird.
