The High Note (2020)
7/10
pretty great acting and singing (but volume difference is annoying)

Warning: Spoilers
I did enjoy Dakota Johnson's acting and Tracee Ellis Ross's singing, but the music was too loud and the dialogue was too soft. I spent the entire movie with the remote in my hand, constantly turning the volume up and back down. Zoe Chao is an awesome best friend and Bill Pullman is a great dad, as always. I thought the big scheme attempting to trick everyone into hearing what she had been working on was very unrealistic. There is an excellent twist at the end, but I'm marking this review with a spoiler alert because just knowing that there is a twist might ruin it anyways for those who don't want to know in advance!
