Blade II (2002)

"I vant to suck your blood!"

I don't know if it was the noisy nephews that I watched this film with or not, but it didn't seem to hold my interest as much as the last one.

I still enjoyed it and I liked the expansion of Whistler's role making you doubt whose side he was on all the way through and in fact I'm still not sure?

Although they were good, there were perhaps too many other characters, which was a shame, because we didn't get to see enough of them.

I did like the use of vampires that were more of a Nosferatu (1922) style, a nice nod to the original vamp film, but I could have done without Luke Goss's face turning in to what, as a gay man, I can only describe as a very angry looking vagina, or at least what I imagine one to look like. It made me a bit nauseous.

I can also appreciate how the film is all about blade, but the story is told through the other characters. It's only when there's a big fight scene, that he really has the spotlight which is quite clever I think.

Not bad at all and I look forward to the next one, especially as I would like to do many naughty things with Ryan Reynolds.
