A Very Disturbing Series, Dark, Dark, Dark!

Those Who Kill - Apple TV - 10 Episodes

This hit the ground running with a gruesome murder and abduction in the first 5 minutes. Apple shows normally have the luxury of limitless time, so they "breath" in a different way like Netflix compared to the crash, bang, wallop of terrestrial TV, it was self-evident this was not an Apple commission from the start. This show attacked the senses and the characters had a previous history so we were just joining them along the way. We had a genuine sense of menace it was very disturbing, I loved it!

Based on the 2011 Danish version of which I have yet to see, it's next.

It is so refreshing to have an adult show with no quarter given to any PC consideration or "woke" anxiety. This show was made in 2014 but it is just being aired now in the UK! The animal instincts of Catherine Jensen showed a woman barely holding it together. The clear inference was that detectives investigating psychopaths were damaged by entering their worlds and predicting their actions and Thomas, played by James Darcy, placed his hand on objects, this implied clairvoyant abilities.

The true mark of a detective series is shocking unpredictability and this show had it in spades, Hawaii 5 O it ain't lol. From some of the reviews on here I can see it was way to dark for an American audience but for us in Europe brought up on Bron/Broen or The Killing it was normal. What I really liked was the short episodic murders combined with the overarching series stories it was great!

Despite some clunky moments I'm giving this a solid 9 out of 10.
