The Spencer Tracy Legacy: A Tribute by Katharine Hepburn is well worth it for anyone who's a fan of both
28 July 2021
Having previously watched this on PBS some 35 years ago, I rewatched this again on Disc Two of Woman of the Year. Katharine Hepburn takes us through the life and career of her frequent co-star and paramour Spencer Tracy. So we see various co-stars and directors mentioning Spencer's methods of his craft. We also see Kate talk with his daughter Susie about her time with her famous father. And then there are all those clips of many of Mr. Tracy's films showing some of his best scenes. After all that, Kate reads a letter she wrote to Spence years after his death. It's quite poignant when she gets to that part. So on that note, The Spencer Tracy Legacy: A Tribute by Katharine Hepburn is highly recommended.
