Jimmy and Ruth (Richard Cromwell and Helen Mack) have big plans, including marriage and children. Unfortunately, Jimmy's paltry salary as a bank teller isn't quite enough to make their dreams come true.
So, the couple decides to steal a bundle from the bank and hide it instead, figuring that even with time served, there's enough time for a bright future.
Well...
The deed done, the pair soon cracks under the pressure of the good talking-to they get from Detective Roberts (Lionel Atwill), and they're off to prison.
Upon their release, Jimmy and Ruth discover that a legal obstacle has turned their dream into a nightmare.
THE WRONG ROAD is a cautionary fable disguised as a crime drama. Its morally uplifting message is intended to make us "think twice" before taking the easy path. In spite of its sermonizing approach, its worth a peek...
