"Introducing Janet" is a cute CBC TV movie from 1981. Although Jim Carey is not the star, as the vhs/dvd packaging (under video title Rubberface) would have you believe, he is a solid supporting character. This is not the laugh-out-loud comedy sensation that most were expecting, hence the negative reviews. I just revisited this after first seeing it on vhs 25 years ago and I was not disappointed. It's a very light story but it has a lot of heart, not to mention it provides a glimpse of some impressions that Carey started his career with. If you temper your expectations with what you're getting, it's an enjoyable film, especially at a brisk 48 minutes!
