Attractive, varied cast muddles through confusing plot. You would think the combination of Bogie, Morley, Lorre, Gina and a flirtatious if somewhat bizarre Jones would be worth something. Funny that in his misses Bogie sounds pretty much the same as in his more frequent successes. Unfortunately, an enigmatic Bogie in a poor film only seems to make it that much more pathetic. Unexplained romantic developments further muddy a failed story-line. Plus most of the actors seem too old for their parts. Drab, pointless and un-inspired. It was this sort of movie that made a child of the 60's reject the apparently mindless, turgid B&W films of the 50's.
