Camaraderie shines
22 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know how realistic the military action was. I liked the friendships and sacrifice to do the mission they were assigned. Maybe the friendships were a little cliche but I couldn't help being invested in the characters. There were weak parts and some of the shoot out scenes were confusing but if you like war dramas I think you will enjoy this. If you're old enough to remember Platoon there's a bit of an homage to a particular scene that I picked up on. I'm going to assume it was intentional, I don't think I'm that clever.

I'm writing this review 11 years after the film was made but there are a couple of actors I'm drawn to, Djimon Hounsou and Raphael Personnaz, and this is why I watched. Right now, in March 2022, the world is on the brink of war, so it is a little strange watching a war film. Keep that in mind.
