My Fiancé is a huge fan of this show and she asked me one day to watch it give it a shot. She had asked me in the past & said no but for some reason I gave in and all it took was one episode and I was instantly hooked.
I just finished the series last night & despite it being an obviously more female targeted show I loved the show. The characters Lorelai, Rory, Luke especially are some of the most likable characters I've come across on a show. While likable they are flawed on a realistic level and that is important to make the show worthwhile. I will also say that Paris has a great character arc for the 7 seasons.
Stars Hollow is a character on it's own its a welcoming, warm, & quirky small town one that you almost wish was real. The other people in town add character & personality to the town that you feel you can find in real life & I feel that is what makes it fun.
The show definitely can appeal to anyone given the chance. The witty banter between the characters makes it never a dull moment. The bond between Lorelai & Rory is one of the best aspects of the show. While seperate they are great but together they are epic.
I can say Season 6 didn't sit well with me & the final episode of the show was not the most satisfying it was still enough for me to say this is one of my top favorite shows of all time. I definitely can say it has high rewatchability.
