Warning: Spoilers
Give me a break, this episode was excruciating. And not in the way it was meant to be. The biggest problem with this show, is that it's a procedural that happens to be a medical drama, not the other way around. Take that away, and you get episodes that are hard to sit through. The characters don't have especially interesting private lives. And getting more into their personal drama, make them look whiny and boring. For not being that very likeable and complex, in the first place. You can add character development, between purely medical scenes. But in a show like House MD, building episodes around characterizations. Make it lose relevance. And the irony about this one in particular is, it gets back to its original format near the end, as writers clearly know it's not working. Thirteen's storyline was the one I preferred the most. But only because I prefer her character more. And think Olivia Wilde, is the only one whose acting, did not become typical of the character she portrayed on the show.
