Warning: Spoilers
'Grace Unplugged' is about Gracie Trey a raised on Christian music singer who wants to pursue the big lights of the secular music world. What I didn't like was how the secular world was portrayed. It was too easy to show how pretentious people can be. Of course they're going to a bit pretentious because they are marketing an image. That image was Gracie Trey. Gracie didn't like that. She hears some things that upset her and goes to her hotel room to cry. At this point she's a little thin skinned Her saving angel is Quentin (an intern/aka Michael Welch) who says all the right things.

Early in the movie we learn that Gracie's dad (aka James Denton) was a very strict worship leader who she played with during their church's worship service. He had a very bad experience as a singer of secular music and he didn't want Gracie to have any part of that. For him the secular music world was evil. Gracie gets tired of her dad's strict ways and wants to sing music of her choosing. When Gracie is old enough and not bound by her dad connects with her dad's former producer who likes Gracie's voice He picks out a song that he records and it is a hit. As Gracie tests the waters she realizes the music and its message doesn't set well with her. She realizes that Christian music lifts her up to a place that feels good. In the final scene fast forwards two years and Gracie is now a contemporary Christian singer for Sapphire Records and is guest singing for Christian singer Chris Tomlin. Gracie's dad joins her on stage.
