Decent Halloween rip off known for the first film role of Tom Hanks.
4 August 2022
The screen debut of Tom Hanks will always keep this in one's curious eye, but other than that and possibly creating the movie within a movie trope there's not much to offer in this rather dull slasher put out by MGM to capitalize on the success of Halloween. And boy does this thing ever straight up rip off Carpenter's film. From various scenes to the music, to the moves of the killer. However, first time director Armand Mastroianni does add some nice visuals and camera work in some scenes and the score is typically effective for a movie like this despite the rather bland kills. Decent watch.
