Fruits Basket (2001)

At first glance, Fruits Basket appears to be no different from other Shoujo manga; it features a typical, attractive, and charitable girl who attracts all the attractive boys. Okay, so it really is that, but there's something unique about the way the series evolves and how you get to see each character change and interact with one another as the plot unfolds.

Beautiful character designs that would describe every character in the series as a bishonen and bishojo are used. The Sohma Family's eyes and hair reflect the color of the animal that cursed them, giving each member of the family a distinctive look.

Even though the 26-episode long series only has one opening and one closing (Chiisana Inori), both performed by Ritsuko Okazaki, the music is incredibly lovely and achieves its goal, leaving you with a sense of serenity and tranquility.

There isn't a dull episode in the entire run of this show. Each one grows and concentrates on the circumstance of a particular individual. Even though the series was abruptly cut short and many loose ends were left, watching alone will satisfy you.
