Warning: Spoilers
If you're looking for a historically accurate movie, this isn't it. If you're looking to be entertained with a fun movie that plays fast and loose with the truth and has wild, improbable shoot outs, this is for you. What's fact is that while Arizona "Kate" "Ma" Barker did accompany her sons on their crime spree, and they did team up with Alvin Karpis, she never went on robberies with her boys, nor did she ever wield a gun. As for being the master mind behind them,I'll quote Alvin,"Ma couldn't even organize breakfast."She really was a fascinating person though. She was kind and generous to people who she met on the run,and many were shocked to learn she was the infamous Ma Barker. Also, she was a faithful church goer, always managing to make it to Sunday services.

Theresa Russell and Frank Stallone were horribly miscast. Stallone looks nothing like Alvin and Theresa's too young to be Ma,but I guess they needed a pay check. Also,Alyssa only plays a limited role as a prostitute runs with the gang, runs afoul of Ma,and meets an untimely end. As someone else said,it hearkens back to the gangster movies of the 60s and 70s,so if you like those kind of movies,as I do,give it a watch.
