I believe this episode has the best dialog, and delivery of it, of any episode of television I've ever watched. Deadwood sets a high bar, in and of itself, but this episode stands a part. From the start, through its entirety, every scene is absolutely magnificent.
At this point in the series its crystal clear that not only do the actors know their respective roles, they are having fun playing them. Ian McShane was brilliant through the entire run of the series, equally so here, but, it's Dayton Callie that steals the show. Every scene he is in is truly, honestly, fantastic.
