''But we don't want to give you that!''

Warning: Spoilers
There was a time I used to watch this show regularly but as time went on I grew tired of the whole concept, as well as growing tired of the tedious antics of its original host Chris Tarrant, formerly known for his work on 'O. T. T.' and 'Tiswas'.

The theme was this - a contestant would be required to answer fifteen questions ( each one winning the player a small sum of money ) correctly to win the top prize of one million pounds. Each question would consist of four possible answers from which the contest would have to pick the correct answer. Each contestant had three lifelines - a '50-50' which would remove two wrong answers and leave behind the right answer and the remaining wrong answer, 'Ask The Audience' would summon a vote from the audience of what they thought was the correct answer and 'Phone A Friend' would see the contestant phoning either a friend of family member to ask them what they thought was the correct answer.

Chris started off amiable enough but his over reliance of using tedious catchphrases such as ''We don't want to give you that!'' which he would spout whilst teasing the contestant by holding out a cheque out to him or her worth a particular sum of money, only then to promptly withdraw it would soon start to set my teeth on edge!

The show ended in 2014 but was revamped four years later with Jeremy Clarkson this time as the quizmaster. I never bothered watching the revival as I had long since gone off the original.
