Fast, Funny and Fighty!

I loved Accident Man, as it was a surprisingly faithful adaptation of the acclaimed UK comic. Scott Adkins was a new one in me, and I thought he nailed it.

The sequel sees Mike Fallon now exported to Malta, where he sets himself up as an assassin for hire. Business as usual ensues until an old acquaintance turns up and he actually has fun for the first time on years. Then, of course, the poop hits the fan.

Similarly to the first film, the main point of the plot is to set up Mike with a series of other assassins, each with their own. Unique and often bizarre style. Best of these is a clown armed with a breeze block on a pole who can't feel pain.

This takes the originals themes and runs with it, giving us a new story rather than the one in the source materials sequel. The fight scenes are excellent, with ridiculously fast action and minimal cuts. Adkins seems to have been born to play Mike Fallon, and excels throughout. It's also quite funny, although the humour is dark, and I laughed several times.

If you want a fun, rather violent action movie that never takes itself seriously then go for it. It knows full well it's a b movie but is very well made anyway.

See the first one beforehand, though, because you'll know what's going on and be sure it's another ten out of ten.

Amazing how good Adkins can be with a decent script and a bit of passion.
