The showrunners really found their rhythm with Ten-Year-Old Tom, which I'd rate at probably a 7 (not a must-watch, but still entertaining).
The predecessor is much more predictable. The falling action, for most episodes I've seen of the show, is basically the same thing over and over: Tim listens to other people, as they tell him to do stupid things, and even though those people don't know each other, they pretty much all take the same approach: convincing him to do the thing by spinning it into some sort of positive, usually concerned only with appearances.
If you like cringe comedy about a pushover character, you might still be annoyed by how repetitive this one is. Ten-Year-Old Tom might be more up your alley.
