Walker: Wild Horses Couldn't Drag Me Away (2022)
Season 3, Episode 4

Good Case of the Week & Continuing Seasonal Arc
30 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This week Trey (Jeff Pierre) gets his hat as a Ranger after having the most circuitous career path of any supporting actor I've seen in a show. From boyfriend/support system to Micki, to a coach & counsellor type at the local school, to a Ranger--which actually fits because his backstory was as a vet like Cordell.

The case he gets is a horse theft and there is some discussion of groups trying to steal and set free wild ponies. (Again, we get the question of being part of the system upholding laws, but balancing doing the right thing.)

Trey handles the job well, but only after getting razzed a bit by Cordell (Jared Padalecki) and James (Coby Bell) who had an awful time with the same FBI guy back in the day.

Cassie (Ashley Reyes) joins in and it was fun to see the light-hearted ribbing they all gave the guy.

We also got to see them having Cordell's back as far as watching for signs of PTSD. Larry in particular, and that dynamic is heart-warming.

Also heart warming was seeing Cordi bring back the ponies, hoping to help his brother get through the same ptsd.

Only, of course, everyone's trauma is different and Liam (Keegan Allen) seems to be overcoming his rather quickly.

---

Besides the shout outs to the actors above, also kudos to the writers and editors who kept this hour balanced/realistic/moving along.

This show gets pre-empted a lot since it's on Thursday (a sports night.) I tracked it down, because the creatives behind it do such a good job.
