The name of the movie is The Young Messiah, and this movie was about Jesus knowing who he is and the uprising of him. The Prominent characters of the film are The Young Messiah (Jesus), The Virgin Mary, Joseph, Cleopas, and also The demon. This movie started off in Alexandria and moved to Nazareth so that Jesus could find answers for who he is and why he is here.
The movie starts off with us meeting the Young Messiah and him not knowing who he is and what he is, all he knows is that he is the son of Mary and Joseph and has two siblings, he is in Alexandria where he had to move after leaving Bethlehem because of the new leader Herod who was killing children. Once Jesus became 7 he was experiencing miracles not many kids can do and was hiding it from the world until he had to use his gift to cure someone, but once he did that he had to leave right away and the family was going to go back to Bethlehem but instead went to Nazareth. On there way they were encountered with a lady who was assaulted and brought her along with them to help her get back on her feet which she did with the help of an elder lee lady who brought all of them in her home for safety, the next day they were off again but since the word about Jesus's miracle got around everyone wanted to know who he was and Herod sent people after him and they were close to catching them as they were going to Nazareth but were able to find a secret place to hide away. During the middle of the night Jesus ran away to go to Jerusalem and get answers from the Old rabbi which he did and was able to find out answers.
An aspect that was different between the two was the temple scene when, in the Movie Jesus ran away from his family to go to the passover in Jerusalem and did not tell his parents where he was going but it was James who told them where he was going and why, all of this happened in one day but in the middle it says how they left Jesus in the temple and it took them three days to find him (Luke 43, 46).
A different aspect was in the whole Luke it does not bring up a demon following young Jesus but throughout the movie he was there trying to get him caught and get him killed. But one thing that was true in both the Movie and in the Bible was when Jesus was born there was angels watching over him and wanting to see him so that they could praise him.
My overall reaction to the movie was that it was good and was able to allow us to see how certain things happened. In the movie we see how Mary was able to have Jesus and why she was chosen to have him out of all the girls in Bethlehem (Luke 1:26-38). Some parts that were not the same was there are parts in the movie that are different form what happens in the bible, for example Luke 2:43-45 it was going into how they left Jesus behind but in the movie Jesus ran away to go talk to the Rabi so if you do not know the bible you would have an interpretation that he ran away when he originally did not. Other than that the movie was well and let us see an aspect of what Jesus was thinking when he was younger.
