5/10
3rd Shaft film
5 December 2022
In New York City, some African brothers are looking for private investigator John Shaft (Richard Roundtree). First, they subdue him, kidnap him, strip him, and then recruit him for a job in Africa.

The mission is a muddle. I only know the bare basics of infiltrating some evil organization. I don't know why these Africans would need to recruit someone from America. They give the excuse that all their operatives are well known, but there are literally millions of Africans. I'm sure someone would be more well suited to play the part than a New York fish-out-of-water guy. It would be more reasonable for him to go to Africa for a vacation. He can always fall into the complicated conspiracy later. It's exactly what the title says. It's Shaft in Africa. They're trying to make him Bond. The most disappointing is losing the theme from Shaft. There is some joy with having exotic Africa on film, but this is not a good movie.
