The Menu (2022)
6/10
Appetising, but not the banquet it wants to be
5 January 2023
Heard a lot about The Menu, where an exclusive island set foodie meal goes horribly off course.

It's quite captivating and well done, but ultimately like the type of food it smugly ridicules, rather less than the sum of it's parts.

One of those that is happy throwing up more questions than answers. Thus smacks of writers having a cool idea but being unwilling to flesh it out. It left me thinking But why? And But how? A bit too much to make it as nourishing as some found it.

It may well be that this is the perfect appetizer for The Glass Onion, a similarly set up movie, but it's no main course.

Excellent performances nonetheless.
