Kirk Cameron was the huge Hollywood sensation because of his role in Growing Pains, but during that time he became a Christian and pretty much left Hollywood to pursue his Christian acting career.
Growing Pains wasn't bad, but it wasn't the show I was desperate to record on the video tape recorder (VHS not beta, not that I have anything against beta), but still Growing Pains had its funny moments. Richard "Boner" Stabone was played by Andrew Koenig, and very sadly Andrew's life ended too soon.
Could there be a Growing Pains remake? Well we have The Simpsons and Family Guy, but who knows really.
