I found this series due to 1923, which through episode 5 is a top notch series. So I started watching Yellowstone. I like some things but...just having finished episode 2 of season 2, it's like all pining for Obama and the typical "white people suck" message Hollywood is obsessed in pushing everywhere but China because China doesn't want woke nonsense.
At its best, it is really good actors playing cardboard characters.
One son gets killed in the first episode and then is quickly forgotten but we dwell on the family's matriarch who died in 1997 causing arrested development. And then suddenly Kevin Costner has cancer and cancer surgery that all takes place off screen.
And the daughter is angry all the time. And as of the S2E2 self-righteously yelling at the youngest son because her boyfriend got kicked out of the boss house.
Is it worth going on?
One of the rare cases where the prequels are better then the original. I finished 1883 which only had two bum episodes and could have been whittled down to five. And 1923 is my favorite as of episode five.
