7/10
100 minutes of eye candy

I know you're going to be tempted to ride off Adiós Sabata as just a lousy spaghetti western, and if it had starred Jack Palance or Clint Eastwood, I would agree and recommend you skip it. However, it stars Yul Brynner, so any self-respecting woman who likes extremely sexy cowboys will want to watch this movie. I enjoyed it so much, I'm looking forward to watching it again.

Part The Magnificent Seven and part The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Yul, Dean Reed, and Ignazio Spalla are after a stolen gold loot; but although they would like to keep it for themselves, they plan on turning it over to Mexican revolutionaries to help their cause. There are some double crosses, some twists, some red herrings, but is anyone really paying attention? I'm speaking of course to the ladies in the audience. I have no idea if men will like this movie. But for us girls, it's really hard to focus on the plot when Yul struts around in his cowboy outfit, showing off his big his gun is and how quickly he can refire. The movie is pretty much a 100-minute tribute to Yul looking sexy. He knows it, too, but personally, I don't think it matters. If he looks that good, he can afford to let his ego show a bit.

DLM Warning: If you suffer from vertigo or dizzy spells, like my mom does, this movie might not be your friend. 45 minutes in, when they're walking around the ancient ruins, there's a POV shot that spins around in a circle. Also at 64 minutes in, after they've found the gold, the camera spins upside down in a continuous circle for about 30 seconds, and that will make you sick. In other words, "Don't Look, Mom!"
