*SPOILER ALERT*
I had mixed expectations going in to this. His movies have wither been amazing (The Sixth Sense) or dreadful (Lady in the Water). He usually has some sort of either twist or meaning either in the story or characters, but this was disappointing.
A group of 4 random people come to the rented cabin of a same-sex couple and their adorable adopted daughter. They ask the couple to sacrifice of one of them to prevent the apocalypse. Naturally they say no and bad things start happening. Then one of them makes the sacrifice, and the remaining two drive away as the apocalypse ends abruptly. The end. Seriously.
There's very little backstory except for Eric and there's no explanation as to why the 4 were chosen nor why they had to kill each other when the couple refuses the sacrifice. No twist, no deeper meaning, nothing. Waste of time.
