This movie is both optimistic and depressing. When they start to talk about the actual car on the studio lot and how much it had gone into disrepair it gets very depressing. Too many great events in history are not saved properly and when you go to see the site or item it is falling apart. They do not care nor know the gold mine in their possession. It is sad. What is great is hearing how things were made, especially the car, and how fans have taken care to try to reproduce it the best they can. No, they usually do not do a good job, but it shows how much this film impacted fans. Then you get to see Claudia Wells. I had a crush on her then and I do now too. She should have been a greater star than what life gave her. Then there is Donald Fullilove who was almost famous. No sir, you ARE famous. Just because Hollywood does not know how to respect its stars does not mean you are not famous. I enjoyed this more than the movie because you get to hear about the behind the scenes events that went into planning, making, and developing the movie.
