O what can it mean?

Eternal snippet: Dawson and Joey singing karaoke where Joey is looking at him with that signature Joey Potter/Katie Holmes smile that would melt a million male hearts.

But seriously, what can it mean? It is either brilliance or idiocy that Aunt Gwen gives Dawson that painting when she does knowing what she does. So I give this episode no rating because I either hate it or think it's brilliant. The romantic and dramatic tension is certainly off the scale for most of the episode.

Most of my past episode reviews have been character updates so let me briefly move to that.

Jen has overcome the disasters of Season 2 and is back to being a remarkable young woman even if she isn't exactly sure what she is or should be feeling.

Andie has also moved past her disasters and is at least out of the pitiful victim zone.

Dawson is on level ground, but is it denial or acceptance? Maybe that should be turned into some kind of tag line for this point in the series.

Joey, who has always been a character I loved and also admired at least most of the time, is playing with fire and she should know better and fess up before it all goes nuclear. The precocious girl that she has been built up to be for the series would know better. On the other hand, a real 16 year old girl who is truly a beauty beyond dreams but has never been secure would not be able to help it.

Pacey is doing the best he can. Perhaps he should know better also, but a lot of this is beyond his experience.
