#2/4: Cemetery of Terror (1985)

(8/10): A staple of the video store, Cemetery of Terror is a Mexican slasher/zombie hybrid flick with not much for logic but lots of cool stuff for Horror fans to enjoy.

It features Mexican cult actor Hugo Stiglitz in the lead role and follows a group of medical students who steal a corpse from a morgue and then raise him from the dead which then causes everything to spiral out of control and they put several lives, including their own, in danger.

It's got some solid effects work, especially in the gore department with many deaths being pretty nasty and savage.

The film is pretty atmospheric with an undercurrent of fog around the cemetery that really helps the film feel more ominous and helps the overall presentation of the film.

It's easy to see why it has a dedicated cult following, as while it might not make a lick of sense it is effective at what it sets out to do.
