It's not Hepburn's fault

Warning: Spoilers
I see that one of the writers on this film project was Mortimer Offner. That may be an error. More like Mortimer Snerd (for those old enough to remember Edgar Bergen). One of our reviewers described this film as a light comedy. Light is an understatement. Other reviewers here wrote silly. Another understatement. This was, essentially, a one joke film surrounded by about 60 minutes of pap. But don't blame Katarine Hepburn. She's not the one who wrote it...or directed it...or produced it. In fact, I'm stunned that George Stevens and Pandro Berman were involved in this project.

There were only two reasons I stuck with this film. First, and foremost, I've taken a bit of an interest in seeing Franchot Tone in films, and here he's the male lead. And, I did (sort of) enjoy seeing the wonderful Fay Bainter in something other than a motherly role.

I won't give the one joke premise away, but it's waaaay simplistic and silly...and downright unbelievable.

Seriously, if you're looking for Hepburn films, this isn't one to watch.
