The Chapel (2023)

We all loved this film at Shanghai International Film Festival
13 June 2023
This is a wonderfully film with a beautiful and intense story. I watched it at the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival and it was a full house on the day. Everyone loved it. We were all absorbed in the story. Jennifer Rogiers who grows up with the emotional traumas about her parents relationships enters into The Queen Elisabeth Competition for the purpose of making her mom proud. Emotionally unstable, she practices like hell and finds herself hard to get along with other contestants staying in the chapel. The piano pieces she plays in the film are powerful especially with the piece by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Actress Taeke Nocolai did a excellent job in portraying the role. She brought us into an emotional ride with her and never lost us. We felt we were next to her following her closely. Very well done. I strongly recommend this film!
