Disconnect (II) (2018)
5/10
Slightly Confusing at Times but Not Too Bad Overall

This film essentially begins with an attractive, young lady by the name of "Celine" (Brenda Wairimu) breaking up with her boyfriend named "Kenneth" (Isaya Evans) after discovering that he had been cheating on her. Not long after that, her best friend "Josh" (Nick Mutuma) informs her that Kenneth has been killed in an automobile accident which demoralizes her even more since she had rejected several calls from him just hours earlier. Fortunately, thanks to the moral support provided by several of her girlfriends, she reluctantly begins dating again. Meanwhile, Josh has begun receiving signals from his girlfriend "Neema" (Bridget Shighadi) that she wants to get married--which he is having serious doubts about due to a business relationship with a female client named "Belinda" (Illya Frank) that appears to be taking a romantic turn as well. Things get really confusing, however, when Josh sees Celine dating other men while, at the same time, Celine happens to see him and Neema together for the first time. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this was an okay comedy which benefited from several funny scenes and a couple of attractive actresses in Brenda Wairimu and Bridget Shighadi. On the other hand, I thought that the film suffered from poor character identification and a script which was unnecessarily vulgar at times. Likewise, I didn't particularly care for the rather abrupt twist at the end either. Be that as it may, while I certainly felt like this film had its faults, it still managed to pass the time fairly well and I have rated it accordingly. Average.
