5/10
Was a 7 in the 80s, a 5 now

In the 80s, this was a pretty good flick.

But it's lost its luster over the decades.

Demi Moore showed she had acting chops, and this movie really cemented her future career.

I agree with those who say Michael Biehn was wasted.

He's one of those guys you think must have retired - but his IMDb page lists that he's been working in stuff no one has ever heard of the whole time.

He was huge in the 80s.

Must have not kissed the ring.

If there's one serious flaw in this movie, it's the very anticlimactic ending.

It is a subject that would be hard to think of an ending for, where the world didn't end - but surely they could have thought of something better than that.

Hell, just having the world end and the credits roll would have been better.

The reason why it's a 5 now, is because Hollywood moved on to better ways to tell stories over the last few decades - really dating 70s and 80s flicks, as to technique and production.

If you watched it back then, you'll have the benefit of nostalgia, like I do.

But someone who only knows contemporary film trying to watch this I'm sure finds it low budget and boring.
